A new list is born

In maintaining the list of events at Houston Running Calendar, one of the objectives was to keep focused on the immediate metro region, which we defined as the area within a radius of approximately 60 miles away from downtown Houston. We want that audience to take notice of great running events right their own neighborhoods, and hopefully keep that list from growing to unwieldy size.

But we also noticed that organizers of races in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area -- just outside the HRC region, but still too far away, really -- were asking to be listed to help with publicity. We think the answer is a new list that focuses on the region -- which we'll start out for us as locations within 40 miles of Beaumont. We hope this list matures into a useful resource for the running community of the Golden Triangle.
